Media Strategist and Buyer

Job Overview

Place Creative Company is looking for an experienced, full-time Media Strategist and Buyer to support our growing media team. You’ll build, present, and report on our client’s media campaigns. And work directly with clients to support our senior account team. The ideal candidate will have cross-platform marketing experience, with a heavy emphasis on digital media marketing. Traditional media (broadcast, print, OOH) are a definite plus. You should be comfortable talking with clients on a daily basis and have an understanding that each day is never the same.

Job Responsibilities (70% of FTE)

  • Determine the best media outlet mix for promotional strategies
  • Negotiating contracts with media and third-party vendors
  • Plan and execute all media strategies, including paid social, email marketing, display advertising, video, social media, and traditional advertising campaigns
  • Develop and/or maintain a branded social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, etc) for our clients, which may include creating and managing an editorial calendar and ad placements.
  • Monitor online and offline ad campaigns
  • Optimize advertising strategies for varying audiences and channels
  • Design and review advertising budgets in collaboration with clients
  • Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on the insights
  • Create new campaigns to reach a broader audience
  • Ensure a cohesive advertising message across campaigns
  • Plan, execute, and measure experiments and conversion tests. Track & report results.
  • Build long-term relationships with media influencers to promote our client’s brands

Job Responsibilities (30% of FTE)

  • Active point of contact for client relations
  • Manage internal and external / vendor teams
  • Coordinate and enforce deadlines and schedules
  • Proficiency in maintaining status and budget documents and schedules
  • Obtain third-party contracts/estimates
  • Draft project briefs
  • Document meeting notes and follow-ups
  • Project proof-reading

Position Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience planning and purchasing media
  • 3-5 years of brand or agency experience interacting with clients.
  • Expert knowledge of all media channels (display networks, data sources, API’s)
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and building digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • Working knowledge of ad serving tools
  • Expert knowledge of Google Analytics and goal tracking
  • Experience with budget planning and KPIs
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Detail-oriented

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Able to work well independently but also within a team setting
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Proactive thinker who is up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement

Software Requirements

  • Working knowledge of WordPress CMS is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (mainly InDesign) is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft or Google suite of products (mainly excel/google sheets)
