The Way to Go! Commuter Challenge is a week-long challenge that looks to reduce the number of single-occupancy vehicles on the road by encouraging individuals and schools to walk, bike, take the bus, or carpool to their office or school. But, it’s not easy to get people to change their ways. To motivate teams, we developed, It’s Go Time!, an incentive-based campaign that rolled out in digital and print ads, and an online viking-themed video. The most recent campaign far exceeded expectations. In 2016, overall participation skyrocketed 121% and school participation jumped 176% compared to the previous year.
